About

Re-Covering presents new works by over 40 artists including Billy Childish, David Shrigley, Robert Clark, Magda Archer, and Harry Hill. In Re-Covering each artist redesigns the cover of an influential book onto a reclaimed piece of oak from school libraries. Coinciding with Re-Covering, Untitled Gallery will host The Reading, a live art projection initiated by the artist/writer Jane Chavez-Dawson which will see up to 70 writers working in the gallery throughout the exhibition. Each writer will use the previous writer's work to produce a text that will be projected live onto the back wall of the gallery and across multiple screens in Manchester including Cornerhouse, International Anthony Burgess Foundation, CUBE, Chinese Arts Centre, Castlefield Gallery, Manchester Art Gallery, and The Reading Room Collection, MMU Library.
