In this intimate environment and accompanied by the voice of loved ones they are taught and still exceed the protected sphere of private life in the direction of a social space. Children's books go with a whole bunch of hopes and expectations associated: With romantic notions of originality and "childlike naivete", with enlightened education, or with the discovery of the child as a utopian mass. They demonstrate impressively how much these narratives are the ideals and ideas of childhood and society, and the idea of ​​a future.

The project RATZ FATZ MAGIC WAS - Fair and Fairy Tales presents a collection of children's books of the postwar period, their fullness and visual and media experimentation had a peak in the 1970s. Came from overcrowded libraries decommissioned doublets, children's books, the collecting from the ecstatic focus and safekeeping fans, or photo books from children's rooms, which were replaced by the uninspired new use of abandoned parents they are the traces of countless children's hands enrolled. Organic material that has imbibed the fibers of the paper, or excited scribblings on complex printing process, are evidence of the former confrontation this virulent stories with a generation that has long since grown up.

On the List Art Fair Basel, the collection of more than 80 copies found their form in a group of sculptural nature, where books can be removed at will from the body. There are daily from 15 clock readings from the books with special guests.
