About

We are opening our doors in Bogotá!

The first edition of the program in this city will take place from July 15 to August 21, 2024.

How does it work?

The key element in the R.A.R.O. Itinerant Residencies is the opportunity to create, collaborate, and move through various artist spaces during the residency period.

R.A.R.O.'s multidisciplinary nature allows residents to work in two or more artist studios in Bogotá within a short period of time, deepening their expertise in one or more disciplines. The project's network of local artist studios enables interested residents to choose where they want to produce their work and engage in collaborative projects. The choice of studio depends on the techniques each resident wants to develop or deepen and the timeframes established by each studio.

Residents can work in a minimum of two studios for at least three weeks, deepening their expertise in one or more techniques. During their stay, they can present their work, connect with local artists, curators, collectors, and more. They will also have the opportunity to create an audiovisual record of the entire process and showcase their final work in a short exhibition held during the last week of the residency at Espacio Odeón.

Who is R.A.R.O. for?

R.A.R.O. Residencies are aimed at emerging and established artists, curators, and managers from all disciplines, both national and international, who are interested in participating in itinerant residencies. They will have the opportunity to share a studio with local artists for the production of work and, in the end, take part in a group exhibition with the support of the R.A.R.O. team.

Residency Dates:

From July 15 to August 21.

Fees, scholarships, and opportunities:

The cost of each residency varies depending on the duration and the chosen studios.

We are excited to announce that we will be offering 1 (one) full grant for Colombian artists, with the support of the Universidad de Los Andes Art Department.

We will also offer 2 (two) half grants in collaboration with Espacio Odeón and R.A.R.O. Buenos Aires, one for artists of any nationality and another for artists and collaborators from the R.A.R.O. network.

We invite artists of any nationality to apply to our 2024 residency.

The program will take place in-person in Bogotá, Colombia, from July 15th to August 21st, 2024. Deadline: May 16th, 2024, 23:59 (GMT-5).
