Selma Feriani is pleased to announce the opening of a solo show of new artworks by the Tunisian artist Raja Aissa. Raja's work demonstrates a unique abundance, both in its physical complexity but also in its theoretical range. The gallery is showcasing Raja's most recent series âClick', a stunning collection of subtly coloured painted and textured canvases, which are overlaid with a coated fabric hazing the detail of the figures beneath. The artwork examines the omnipresence of the virtual and its role in dematerialising the self and creating new definitions between the hidden and seen identity. Each canvas features a cursor as a symbol of modern life, and makes reference to the immediate accessibility of all cultures and places which are now only a click away, awakening a resurgence in ethnic and religious identities.
