The common goal is to seek alternatives to the idea that humans stand at the top of the hierarchy of nature and therefore have the right to exploit natural re- sources, destroy the environment, and abuse other species.
About
Queer Ecologies is a project in which twelve female artists from the Faculty of Fine Arts and beyond will participate. The common goal is the search for alternatives to the idea that man stands at the top of the hierarchy of nature and therefore has the right to exploit natural wealth, destroy the environment and abuse other animal species. Queer ecology offers the belief that this concept is a patriarchal, heteronormative construct, and alternatives to it are offered precisely by communities on the fringes of society pushed outside the physical and imagined mainstream space, which aim to disrupt hierarchies, market rules, claims to land and natural resources, and products or applications power over other animal species. Queer ecology, i.e. spaces that subvert and at the same time heal the sick functioning of the world, as "other" environments, perspectives of recoding habit, possibilities of emancipation and unlimited imagination offer new scenarios of the present and the future not only for queer people, but for everyone. The multi-genre exhibition offers different forms of criticism of existing structures and different ways of searching for alternatives by stirring the prevailing relationship of man to the natural environment and space. The author will present projects using the medium of photography, traditional paintings, videos, performances, installations and others.
