About
Curated by James Horner, "Queer Dispositions" is an online-only exhibition hosted by Amos Eno Gallery on Artsy.net, from April 15 to May 15, 2025. This exhibition invites artists to explore the nuanced and multifaceted interpretations of what LGBTQI+ life means today.
Artists are encouraged to delve into themes such as gender identity, discrimination, body image, sexuality, desire, partnership/marriage, and landscapes important to the community. The exhibition aims to reveal the lives of LGBTQI+ folk today through their visual stories.
Examples of possible interpretations include:
- Figurative work of queer people living everyday lives and their icons that have fought for equality or have been strong role models – idolized in the community.
- Abstract works that tell stories via words or images.
- Depictions of landscapes cherished by the community, like Fire Island in New York, Provincetown, MA, or Greenwich Village in Manhattan.
- Other LGBTQI+ themes will be considered.
All forms of media will be considered, painting, drawing, sculpture, digital, prints, etc. Artists based anywhere in the U.S. are encouraged to apply.
Artist images will be posted and sold on Artsy.net in a special curated exhibit.
