About

17 artists, newly graduated from the University for the Creative Arts, have come together to bring you PUNCTURE; an exciting and diverse exhibition at the Vyner Street Gallery, London. It creates an intriguing environment that questions contemporary art through the use of painting, installation, sculpture, photography, film and sound work. This four-day exhibition PUNCTURE allows an audience to explore many themes currently being portrayed and questioned within the art world. What value systems are there within art? What do we perceive as beauty? Is it through the portrait or perhaps through a sublime landscape? Is it even possible to see beauty within dust and its territory? How does the uncanny and memory influence humans? When we perceive an image in our likeness, how do we perceive ourselves? Is religion still relevant? What relevance does the object have on our daily lives? How does sound affect our psychological relationship to objects within space? Puncture aims to aid an audience in considering these many questions and the art influences around them. Introducing artists: Rosie Allan, Rashin Bayat, Aimme Blakemore, Rebecca Chitticks, Jessica Crosby, Stephanie Girling Heathcote, Vanessa Fewtrell-Smith, Carlamaria Jackson, Anna Jordan, Carolyn MacLeod, Ben Mobbs, Karys Munns, Louise Patey, Natasha Potter, Claire Searles, Robert Stella and Holly Walker.
