About
La Scatola is delighted to present Punctuating, an exhibition with artists Rowena Harris and Vera Kox.
Showing together for the first time, Harris and Kox will present new works with the gallery space in mind, initiating a dialogue between their two unique individual practices and exhibiting both previous and new pieces.
The physicality and materiality of the objects exhibited offer the key to a perfect encounter.
Vera Kox's consumptive sumptuous sculptures cut into the flesh of ordinary matter to reveal its intricate role in our lives. Kox's work erupts, stretches and collapses; matter is portrayed in a tension between its intended purpose and its transformation into something else. The deconstruction of matter reveals its unrestrainable nature in a symposium of unpredictable shapes.
Rowena Harris' work confronts us with a semblance of a monument, as if the viewer stands in the midst of questionable commemorations to a now that might already be a past. The ephemeral victory is nailed down and crushed by the weight of societies expectations.
Please join us to discover new shapes and forms within the evolution of two young artists, their work delivered to you in Punctuating.
