The University of Portsmouth are thrilled to offer an opportunity for CCI students, staff, and members of the public, to attend a lecture by Guy Begbie.
Dr Maureen O’Neill, who curates The Ministry of Books Collection, and Ros Simms, from Illustration, bring to you this event, as part of a collaboration for SUBSTANCE: Portsmouth Artists Book Event, organised by artist David Kirby, in partnership with Aspex Gallery and Danny Aldred, from the Winchester School of Art.
Guy Begbie, is an Inter-disciplinary book artist and designer, that has taught at various UK Universities as a lecturer, and coordinator since 1995. He is currently employed as a visiting associate lecturer at the University of West England, delivering teaching for MA/BA (Hons) programmes, and Continuing Professional Development Courses in advanced bookmaking.
His current Practise is in the field of book arts, graphic investigation, and printmaking; his research interests are in the activated fold and derive in a book works context.
This lecture will take place on the 17th of November, at 10 am, in the Unviersity of Portsmouth's King Henry Building, room 0.20. The event is free to attend, however you must book your place on Eventbrite.
The SUBSTANCE event will take place at Aspex next year on Sunday 18th March 2018.
