An evening with Jane McAdam Freud

About

To mark the publication of “Psychoanalytic Perspectives on the Shadow of the Parent“, the Freud Museum warmly invites you to an evening with Jane McAdam Freud.

This evening will begin with an illustrated talk by the artist discussing her contribution to the book: the chapter “Paddle your own canoe – Negotiating the Shadow”, touching on identity, success in one’s own right and taking on the Freud mantle.

Images showing her sculpture will reflect the conscious and unconscious idea of ‘the shadow’, with Jane’s works also “speaking” of freedom and a sense of liberation.

Her presentation is followed by a discussion with the writer Sylvia Paskin. The event will be introduced by the book’s editor, Jonathan Burke.

Refreshments at 6 pm. The event will start promptly at 7 pm.

“Psychoanalytic Perspectives on the Shadow of the Parent“ book available from the Freud Museum Shop.
