A day of talks, presentations, discussions and screenings exploring the historical and cultural influence of psychedelia, interspersed by films selected from the LUX archive. Contributors include: Jonathan Harris, professor in Global Art and Design Studies at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton speaking on recent research into 1960s psychedelic distortion and cultural and artistic developments. Dr William Rowlandson, lecturer in Hispanic Studies at the University of Kent and Director of the Centre for Study of Myth speaking on mysticism, psychedelia and creativity. Roger Buckley, from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge speaking on instances of altered visual experience and the gap between physical and psychological vision. Plus artists' presentations from Damien Roach, Kate Owens, Hilary Koob-Sassen, Mark Essen.
