AboutPrune presents new work by Toby Christian and Dmitri Galitzine produced to be shown together for this exhibition.
Toby Christian is showing a series of recent drawings on pieces of foam, loosely based on materials usually found in the life-drawing room: foam for the comfort, and chalk outlines to maintain a position of the body. These drawings suggest remaining records of various arrangements: provisional images of the fictional choreography of a composition.
Dmitri Galitzine presents work prompted by his recent move to Herefordshire. During his first summer spent in the British countryside, the artist turns his head to his new community and their preferred Saturday afternoon enthusiasms. His installation consists of the transposed vegetable contenders in an agricultural show, a regular summer time event of the British countryside that seeks to celebrate all aspects of rural and farming life.
