About

At the age of five, Prost dipped his fingers into his father's bike oil. Then the fingers touched a wall. The discovery of art was instant. The fun hasn't stopped since. The Berlin-based artist is most recognised for his Prostie smileys — a project, which started off as an attempt at doing self-portraits. So far it was only this tip of his creative iceberg, which was available for all to see and enjoy on the streets. But now the time has come to reveal some more. In his first solo show you will finally be allowed to enter the private universe of Prost, where lots and lots of witty suprises await. Like the proudest of parents, West Berlin Gallery is thrilled to present this daring and mischievous artist. The 24 hour king of street amusement, whose bold visual statements on society are a crime to miss, is happy to temporarily work within the walls of a gallery filling the space with his message by ironising and criticising established conventions, and making a positive change. The mission - to awake people from their zombified states of reality, to raise awareness, to make them notice and smile. This allows him, after all, to reach his target audience — consumers - directly. The show will feature an estimate of 100 works by the artist on various sorts of media creatively combined. Work made on canvas, wood, paper, cardboard, billboard, labels and of course, walls. Legend has it that even Chuck Norris was very impressed. Expect the unexpected.
