Project29 Exhibition

About

This exciting new organisation and exhibition examines the effect of site-specific study when it is transported into a gallery space. It aims to re-address all questions relating to why artists need to communicate ideas and of how study is delivered and appropriated to an audience. This project therefore takes particular strength from placing artists back into the reality of actual space in order to gain the information necessary to generate conceptual ideas and practical work. In this exhibition the focus is a site that travels between two points of reference. The site is part of the river Trent which wends its way between Gunthorpe and Trent Bridge with the main focus being the journey from there to the gallery space. The work intends to engage with site oriented study and the process at which ideas, objects and materials are gathered from one into another. Thus, it examines the exchange between the work of art and the places in which its meanings are defined with the gallery context being seen as a destination point in which the works are completed and presented.
