This exhibition tells the story of the painting “Procession in Bali”, and that of its creator, the Scots-born artist Ian Fairweather (1891 to 1974). Painted in 1933, this artwork from the collection of Leicester Museums has rarely been displayed in public.
About
Now, on the 50th Anniversary of Fairweather’s death, join international guest curator, artist, and writer Christine Finn on a journey to Bali and beyond, in pursuit of Fairweather’s emotive life-story.
Long celebrated in Australia, but overlooked in Britain, it’s time to rediscover Fairweather’s legacy through artefacts, archive material, and the sound of Gamelan music.
