A three day series of performances by Helena Goldwater, Jefford Horrigan and Quilla Constance
About
Each day, an artist will lead a workshop with Camberwell College of Arts students to create a work in the gallery.
Members of the public are invited to form an audience to the workshops which will reveal the processes that make a performance.
9 January 2019
Audience times: 11am – 1pm, 2pm – 4pm
Helena Goldwater facilitates a workshop titled ‘The Nature of Things’ exploring the body in relation to natural materials, questioning notions of nature and the natural – whether in terms of the politics of identity, the physical matter of the body, the urban landscape, concerns around global climate change, and so on. Materiality, transformation, space, duration and process as performance, will be core methodological investigations of the workshop and public-facing performance actions.
10 January 2019
Audience times: 3pm – 4pm
Performance led by Jefford Horrigan. For this performance, Jefford has asked the performers to bring in a large, household object or piece of furniture that they will move, manipulate and sometimes dance with until they become a different entity.
11 January 2019
Audience times: 11am – 1pm, 2pm – 4pm
Quilla Constance will lead a workshop titled ‘Teasing out Contingencies Pilot’, a costume and performance workshop staging surprising and unlikely scenarios using a wide range of props, disco dancing, atonal cello music and a selection of costumes.
