About

Catriona is a London based artist who works in sculpture and installation investigating structure and form, positive and negative space. Using light as a medium to manipulate perception of an object.

CNC PRINT SERIES Statement:

I tend to work predominantly as a sculptor/ installation artist, although recently I have discovered means to incorporate painting as a 3-Dimentional medium. Using the waste board of CNC router machine to engrave layer upon layer, building up and eventually losing the original patterns and sense of order to create an undetermined formation of line and depth. This detached process questions the artists involvement and authenticity when making art work; by using machine or handmade processes, and as a non-painter I embrace this as a concept as my aesthetic. I am using print processes to experiment with this depth of line by removal of ink and embossing techniques returning the imprint to a 3Dimensional representation.
