Preserved Memories is an installation project depicting how dementia, a progressive disease, impacts the fabric and identity of one’s being. The installation is panels hanging from the ceiling, sculptural assemblages, recorded stories/memories playing in the space.

About

Dr. Betty Ann Brown, art historian, critic and curator says, Irilian’s “Preserved Memories” installation presents the stories of individuals with dementia, giving them voices through compilation of drawings, photographs and assemblage sculptures of memory-laden objects which people identified themselves.
