Hattie Crowther launches her new collection at Way Out East– display works that subtly explores the intersection between an athlete's public image and the personal sacrifices made behind the scenes through the lens of a “WAG”.
About
Hattie Crowther has been subverting sportswear twisting it into high-femme items, introducing tailoring and corsetry to football, her gender-fluid collections have given the sport a refreshing new take.
Blending traditional masculine symbols like football jerseys with tailoring and corsetry allows Hattie Crowther to craft gender-fluid fashion celebrating queerness. Despite apparent differences, queer individuals and football fans share values like loyalty, protection, and love for socialising. While tensions might exist between football enthusiasts and queer communities, she is dedicated to creating an inclusive, safe space. The objective of promoting inclusivity and change in the fashion landscape extends beyond mere clothing. Engaging with football culture's political aspects is crucial for fostering positive change.
Hattie Crowther's latest collection and humorous visuals pokes fun at the current Premier League situation. Beckham's documentary celebrates his career, while Victoria, is portrayed in a supporting role, reflecting the pressures on athletes and their families amidst fan aggression. This collection is a subtle exploration of the intersection between an athlete's public image and the personal sacrifices made behind the scenes through the lens of a “WAG”.
