PRECĀRIUS - a mixed media reflection on the irony of humankind and a call to extend perceptions.
About
„I invite people to look at the unseen, to remove ourselves from our daily perception.“
Inspired by her Javanese roots, coGalleries International Residency artist Talitha Maranila explores the world crossing the borders of genre and paradigm.
Her upcoming exhibition Precārius takes a critical view on spirituality as well as science by investigating and questioning the structures of our reality and reflecting on the concept of philosophy, time and space. Engaging subjects as diverse as religions and cultures, her work reproduces familiar visual and aural signs and arranges them into conceptually and medially multi-layered installations. Precārius explores the irony of humankind and the allegories provided by nature and humanity from multifaceted perspectives.
Talitha Maranila is an emerging Indonesian artist who is part of the residency program at coGalleries since May 2019.
