About
Artists Behind Bars Is a group show with a difference. For one night only, a group of Artists create an immersive installation of hostelries and hospitality. The Bomb Factory gallery is the site, where the common bar is elevated to a work of Art and where each participant creates a unique space dedicated to the pursuit of hedonistic pleasure. Kitty Finer and Noa Weintraub bring together a group of artists who share an interest in structures of hospitality and who are asked to install, host and run their own bars, as well as create a special bespoke cocktail for the punters to try. Each bar curates its own 30 minute musical interlude, selecting a chosen playlist / DJ or live performance ,ever enhancing the ambience of the night. For one night only this installation is dedicated to the convivial pursuit of drinking and sociable exchange. The combined pleasures of music, companionship and alcohol at The Bomb Factory gallery is an event not to be missed.Kitty's many and various Art bars have appeared as interventions often at the illicit social spaces of raves, fiestas, carnivals and beach bars. Artists Behind Bars has previously shown at Matt’s Gallery, the Horse Hospital- and most recently at The Fierce Festival and The Grand Union Gallery/ Birmingham.
