In 1993, a VHS videotape of the show began circulating for sale around major North American Iranian metropolitan hamlets, such as Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver, and the California Bay Area. By many accounts, the videotape was widely responsible for teaching spoken Farsi to a large sum of first-generation children of Iranian expats in those North American cities, born approximately between the years 1987 and 1997.

Ana Briz is an independent researcher, writer, and curator. Her research is primarily focused on contemporary performance art with an emphasis on queer, feminist, and anti-racist Latinx and Chicanx performance in California. The politics of identity inform her curatorial practice and research interests. She is currently a doctoral student in American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California and holds a Master of Arts in Curatorial Practices and the Public Sphere from USC Roski School of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Florida International University.

Alexandre Dorriz is a research-based artist informed by interdisciplinary photographic approaches towards textile archiving and fieldwork practices, investigating auto-Orientalism, memory, optics, and fiber. He has previously exhibited at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Visitor Welcome Center, Human Resources, ltd los angeles, and the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles. Dorriz’s writing has appeared in Temporary Art Review, and his work has been featured in the Los Angeles Review of Books Quarterly and reviewed in Artforum. Dorriz received his MFA at the University of Southern California and his BA at the University of California, Berkeley.
