Unlike most exhibitions, the Central Saint Martins Postgraduate Art Auction gives you the chance to not just fall in love with the work but also take it home there and then.
About
Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, the auction brings together work by the College’s celebrated alumni and current students (fresh from the studio and often previously unseen) with all proceeds contributing to the Postgraduate Art Programme students’ fund.
This year generous donations for the Live Auction come from Antony Gormley, Mona Hatoum, Cathy Lomax, Grayson Perry RA, CBE, Kathy Prendergast, Raqib Shaw, and Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA) among others.
Alongside the Live Auction of alumni and friends there is a Silent Auction comprising work by current second year students from MA Art and Science, MA Fine Art, and MA Photography offering the opportunity to purchase work of artists on the cusp of their careers, with undoubtedly a few Turner Prize winners among them.
Lots are available to view at the Lethaby Gallery in the week running up to the Auction on 17 November. To view the complete list of works for sale, please visit the Art Auction website closer to the event.
This year's auctioneer is Sotheby's Henry Howard-Sneyd, Chairman of Asian Art.
An exhibition of the donated work will be on display in the gallery from 10 – 17 November:
Thursday – Friday, 11 – 6pm (Thursday 17, 11 – 3pm)
Saturday, 12noon – 5pm
Please note that the Lethaby Gallery will be closed on Sunday and Monday
