POSITIONS: THE PRIMITIVE is the first part of an exciting new project curated by the Laing Art Gallery together with artists CullinanRichards, called POSITIONS. Significant pieces of modern and contemporary British sculpture will be on show in the Laing's Marble Hall, starting with Sir Anthony Caro's Early One Morning, 1962 (on show from August 2009). CullinanRichards will respond with newly commissioned artworks. Their installation, Savage School Window Gallery Sculpture No.2 Position 4, announces the imminent arrival of Caro's work.
