You are invited to draw portraits from life with Clara Drummond. The session will begin with an introduction to influential portrait artists from Van Eyck to Elizabeth Peyton.
Portraiture makes us question our present and our past, Tudor portraits bring the period to life through the subject's faces, clothes, gestures and surroundings. Similarly the portraits made by Hockney in Los Angeles in the 60's captured the spirit of an era. Portraiture is still as relevant as ever, from Lucien Freud to Chuck Close artists continue to explore ways in which to portray what it is to be human.
