Speakers: Sculptor Tom Price, painter Jennifer McCrea
and photographer Claire Newman-Williams
How do you make a portrait not just a physical representation but have a spirit or an essence of the person portrayed? How do you interact with the sitter to understand them and make them 'real' in the artwork? What makes a good portrait, and what makes a good portrait painter, sculptor or photographer. These questions and more will be discussed by three formidable artists, all from different practices and with different ways of working. All three use portraiture - the description of a person - as a starting point for their work.
