A photography exhibition documenting the people of Asia. Spanning over 2 years, consisting of over 40 photos from 9 countries.
About
Portraits of Asia is a photography exhibition showcasing the recent work of Ben Bardsley- Ball. This project is the result of over two years of travelling and working around Asia, meeting the locals and experiencing a range of cultures and traditions. It is Ben’s belief that a country’s culture is most accurately found in its people, and a portrait is a small glimpse into that. Whilst travelling around East and Southeast Asia the thing that stood out more than anything else was the accommodating nature and welcoming smiles of the locals. Ben chose to document his travel experiences into the project, with over 40 photographs from 9 different countries, including an image that won the Telegraphs ‘Big Picture Award’.
Ben is a 27 year-old travel photographer currently living in England. He lives full-time in his self-built campervan, and uses it to travel the UK. Ben has love, admiration and an insatiable curiosity for the world and uses his passion in photography to share it with others. Away from photography he is the host of The Unravelling Travelling Podcast with his partner, and interviews fellow travellers to discuss their shared fascination with the world around us.
The exhibition is being displayed at the beautiful Hoxton Cabin in bustling and artistic East London. It will run from the 12th of September until the 3rd of October, with a free opening night being held from 5pm with Asian nibbles, beers, and music. The exhibition is being sponsored by Giclee Studio, a new fine-printing company with a remarkable eye for detail and cost-efficiency. All photographs in this exhibition have been printed by Giclee Studio.
