Helm is proud to announce Unbound; a brand new showcase of original works by Poppy Faun.

About

"A story of love, dreams, escape and finding a purpose. Life is good. Paradise is here and now.

This new series explores a fairy tale story of two lovers and their horse ‘Braveheart’, free from all the struggles of life and surrounded by all the things they love; influential music, creativity, film and freedom. The series also focuses on life with a sense of angels watching over us all when we need it, a teaching of growth, exploring a new path, positivity and manifesting dreams into a reality.

I wanted this series of paintings to have a sense of humour and light-heartedness even though there is deeper meaning, and while they were being created I was in a challenging place in my life. I try and find ways of turning any negativity into a positive. Life is too short to hold onto the bad things.

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses but it’s how you turn your weakness into a positive that counts." Poppy Faun

Throughout the showcase there will be a number of events to attend;

On Wednesday 21st February, Poppy will host an informal badge-making session at Helm, inviting you to create badges of your own design to take away with you.

On Sunday 25th February we will have our first ever film screening, as we show Wim Wenders' Paris, Texas. As Poppy's favourite film of all time, Paris, Texas, serves as a source of inspiration for this series of paintings.

Unbound has been a year in the making and we are excited to present the series at Helm. You can view the artwork between 20th February and 3rd March during our regular opening hours. Work that is centred around "being here in the moment, and living for it" - one not to be missed.
