We are delighted to announce the winners of this year's Fresh Talent Awards which were presented last night. Our fist winner is Aleksandra Sosnowska (Painting, Drawing & Printmaking). Aleks creates the most beautiful portraits in a style reminiscent of Robert Lenkiewicz. Not too surprising as she studies under Louise Courtnell who in turn studied under Robert. The paintings on display are from her Masculine Feminine series and it's quite remarkable how such small nuances in gesture and posture can influence the viewer's perception of gender.
Our second winner Renovat Moody (Ceramics and Glass) originally comes from Burundi, Africa. It is easy to see the influence of his homeland in his work - beautiful striking colours creating vibrant vivid patterns. His glass pieces are simply stunning. Reno is also doing his utmost to help his community - for every piece he sells, he sends half the proceeds back home to help send children to school and to support other projects. He is a remarkable young man and we wish him well.
Showing alongside Aleks and Reno are nine other young emerging artists who all show exceptional talent.
This is an excellent exhibition and you will be mightily impressed by the work of these young graduates. The exhibition is only on for ONE WEEK so catch it NOW and snap up a beautiful piece of art - at a VERY affordable price!
We are very proud of our association with Plymouth College of Art and are delighted once again to hold this annual exhibition which has become a regular feature in our annual calendar.
