From Tampere to Tartu via Bali to Berlin

While traveling B&C ensemble photograph small details of their current surroundings. They put
those pictures together by colours, shapes and rhythms. These works, new observations from
selected themes, they call Points of the View.

Points of the view 1. / Bali, Indonesia: munching monkey's 'Canang sari' & other tiny, holy and
beautiful items from the paradise island. Collage from photos taken in Bali in summer 2017.
Collage will be created during the exhibition to the gallery wall. Result is still a mystery to all.

Points of the view 2. / Tartu, Estonia: broken neck of the bottle makes a butterfly and other
observations from old, colourful and sunny town. Five works from 2017 (photo material in these
montages were taken in summer 2016 in Tartu during staging the exhibition there)

Points of the view 3. / Tampere, Finland: concrete trail spilled in asphalt meets the side of the
dumpster and other kaleidoscopic themes from the city. 12-piece work from 2015.

B&C ensemble is a stage name used by artist couple. B&C, Be and see, tells about the visual
standpoint and importance of “just” being. Appearance by artist name does not signify secrecy, but
an argument of the prevailing emphasis on the self-culture.

Fotomontagen von B&C ensemble 

Von Tampere nach Tartu via Bali nach Berlin

Während der Reisen des B&C ensembles entstehen Fotos kleiner Details ihrer Umgebung. Sie setzen diese Bilder anhand von Farben, Formen und Rhythmik zusammen. Diese Werke, neue Ansichten ausgewählter Motiven, nennen sie Points of the View.

Points of the View 1. / Bali, Indonesien: balinesische Opfergaben und andere winzige, heilige und schöne Objekte vom Inselparadies. Kollage aus Aufnahmen von Bali aus dem Sommer 2017. Die Kollage entsteht während der Ausstellung an der Galeriewand. Das Ergebnis ist zunächst noch allen ein Rätsel.

Points of the View 2. / Tartu, Estland: ein kaputter Hals einer Flasche wird zu einem Schmetterling und andere Erinnerungen von der alten, bunten und sonnigen Stadt. Fünf Werke aus 2017 (die Bilder dieser Montagen wurden im Sommer 2016 in Tartu während der dortigen Ausstellung aufgenommen).

Points of the View 3. / Tampere, Finnland: in Asphalt überlaufender Betonweg trifft auf den Rand eines Müllcontainers und andere kaleidoskopische Motive der Stadt. Werk aus 12 Stücken von 2015.

B&C ensemble ist das Pseudonym des Künstlerpaars. B&C, Be and see, erzählt vom künstlerischen Aspekt und der Wichtigkeit des ‚schlichten‘ Seins. Der gemeinsame Künstlername dient nicht der Heimlichtuerei, sondern vielmehr der Ablehnung eines allzu ausgeprägten Individualismus.
