An evening with three poets
About
Tonight’s poetry reading brings together three poets who write in distinctly individual styles... all with new books published in 2023, they share a poetics of care and compassion.Kelvin Corcoran
One of the senior poets of his generation, Kelvin is author of numerous books since his first appeared in 1985. His recent, Collected Poems (Shearsman 2023), is a major tome of 766 pages, provides a chance to take stock of his career and widespread influence.
Mélisande Fitzsimons
Mélisande began publishing poetry in her native French, but her recent collections, including The Only Country in the World (Aquifer Books, 2023), ‘belong entirely to English discourse’ as one reviewer wrote.
Kenny Knight
Kenny is one of the founding fathers of Plymouth’s vibrant literary community. His trade-mark dry, plaintive, and humourous verse are well on display in his latest collection, Love Letter to an Imaginary Girlfriend (Shearsman 2023).
