Platform Open Annual Art Exhibition 2016 is to showcase emerging and established contemporary artists from across the UK. The exhibition together with Performances by Kier Hall and His Jazz Band is to be hosted by Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers, Morphets of Harrogate.
About
The three day exhibition aims to provide a springboard for artists to exhibit a visual landscape of painting, drawing, photography, film, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and installation. The public will have the opportunity to experience, engage and obtain unique pieces at affordable prices whilst raising money for the children’s charity NSPCC. (A commission of 30% is taken from individual artworks sold at the exhibition and donated to the NSPCC for their important services and campaigns).
Featured London artist Everton Wright (EVEWRIGHT) will be screening: Walking Drawings Across the Estuaries. Directed by Evewright (2012) this unique and evocative art installation 'Walking Drawing Artworks' has a participatory approach and explores mark making on a immense scale using people (and Cumbrian Heavy Horses) as the 'pencils' writing their stories into the Earth. These works were located in the British Isles reinterpreting remotely found landscapes and spaces. Film 1 Heavy Horses 19m.15 and Film 2 Coloured People 22m.50 can be viewed together with a series of large format prints.
