About
Plastic Chair PiazzaKerri Cole and Harry Roberts
In the middle of last month, a woman was seen wearing a t-shirt which read I LEFT NEW YORK FOR PARIS. She was seen in London.
Plastic Chair Piazza is the first two-person show Cole (b.1992, Chatham) and Roberts (b.1997, Cornwall) have worked on together. The show is a result of conversations the two have had over the last few months surrounding the importance of the ideas of place, holiday and tourism in their respective practices. Consisting of a selection of paintings and objects which recall these themes, there is a discussion of the pair's own autobiographies in relation to place formed by a sense of collecting (as if treating material like souvenirs), by experience and by sentimentality. Cole and Roberts' involvement in place is unified by their living and working in London.
