Plant Culture’ and will feature selected pieces from the Arts Council Collection, investigating the relationships between humans and plants.
About
Bringing together different artistic representations of plant life in modern and contemporary art, ‘Plant Culture’ will investigate the relationship between humans and plants.
The exhibition includes work by some of the United Kingdom’s most recognisable artists and includes over 20 artworks drawn from the Arts Council Collection alongside work by international artists and loans from the British Council’s art collection.
The artists featured include Turner Prize winners Gilbert & George (1986), Simon Staling (2005) and short list Turner Prize nominee (2003) Anya Gallaccio. Alongside Marc Quinn, Andy Goldsworthy, Georgie Hopton, Simon Starling, Michael Landy, Mat Collishaw, John Newling.
This is the first time that all of these pieces have been shown in the Midlands in a collective exhibition.
