"Alphabet Anatomy" by Anna Timofeeva

This show is our second show. Anna Timofeeva is an artist we believe in and recognize as part of our creative community. Her works are reflexive of her vision without any hesitation and with full transparency. Anna is not afraid. Her works evolve fast and shift their perspective, a virtue of a true erudite, letting her work carry her and speak for her as she grows.

The work you are about to see revolves around a core memory that influenced her whole life, memory that lasted for 10 seconds, 13 years ago in New York City.

Anna saw a stripper when she was 6 years old. This was her first recollection of seeing a naked woman. Anna became very curious about what she could do with her own body, she began expressing interest in her anatomy and the way it works. She proceeded to experiment throughout the years of her adolescent youth and concluded that her body, everybody's bodies are a unique tool of expression; rather than a vehicle for oppression. Perhaps a better tool, even, than her words were.

"ALPHABET ANATOMY" is about vulnerability and sensitivity. Through full exposure of herself, Anna is a creature of no fear, in her utopian microcosm, where people transmit their feelings without hesitation or fear.

Fear which we can only escape through honesty and sincerity.

This exhibition is inspired by research she once made for academic purposes on David Lynch. His cartoon "The Alphabet" (1969) and one of his first memories of seeing a naked woman running out of the forest, leg her to the thoughts that resulted in the creation of "ALPHABET ANATOMY".
