About

PINKY.PERKY EXHIBITION: 5-9PM

Artists Mark Goldby and Benjamin Martin have been in residency at First Floor Space and adopted the joint persona 'Pinky.Perky', a way for them to express their collaborative practice.

They will be exhibiting the outcomes from their collaboration and personal practices from the last 3 months.

FIRST FLOOR SPACE EXHIBITION: 5-9PM

A group show consisting of work by regular drop in artists of First Floor space and other selected Croydon based artists.

AGENDA DISCUSSION WITH LOUISE ASHCROFT: 7-8PM

Agenda is a group centred around visual arts practices, encouraging debate and conversations about gender and LGBTQI issues. For this event Louise Ashcroft will be leading the discussion.

Scorpifluid means gender fluid between two unknown genders. It's one of hundreds of gender categories we've invented in recent years, many of which are now officially recognised. However, queer representation in popular culture often sticks within limited stereotypes. In this workshop, we take a look at LGBTQ cliches, then remix them, using improvisation, conversation and surrealist games to invent a fantasy cast of queer characters. The workshop is led by artist Louise Ashcroft, a confused bisexual who makes performances, videos and installations which chronicle her disruptive interventions of contemporary culture, often using humour as a tool for resistance.
