Pilsner Urquell International Photography Awards - Best of Show 2007 Exhibition

About

The only UK showing of photographs from the 2007 Pilsner Urquell International Photography Awards - Best of Show exhibition, will be at The Lightbox gallery and museum in Woking, Surrey, from Tuesday 22 April to Sunday 29 June.

The Pilsner Urquell International Photography Awards Competition is the world's most prestigious photography contest. Professional and amateur photographers from around the globe compete for the title of International Photographer of The Year in the categories of Advertising, Architecture, Book, Editorial, Fine Art, Nature, People and Special.

The 2007 Pilsner Urquell Best of Show is an international travelling exhibition curated by Dr. Anthony Bannon, Director of the George Eastman House, USA. He has selected photographs from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place category winners, 35 of which will be on display at The Lightbox.

Photographers from the USA, South America, Europe, Japan, India, the Middle East and Australia are represented in the show. Their images range from evocative portraits to impressive wildlife shots, incredible landscapes, creative compositions, stark photojournalism and striking architecture.

They include the UK's Charlie Crane, winner of the Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year at the annual "Lucie" Awards in New York City, USA. Crane, who is based in London, received a coveted Lucie statue for his otherworldly photographs of Pyongyang, North Korea.
