Finding overlap and sparks between their individual practices in sculpture, ceramics, performance and making, Pillow Sandwich brings together artists Anna Beam, Rita Evans and Aliyah Hussain for the first time in the living room of 38b.
About
Over a series of email conversations circling around the awkward and enlightening limits and possibilities of working in the home - from Frances Stark's accounts of selecting workable home furnishings, to Phyllida Barlow making sculptures in the quiet dark after her kids have gone to bed, balancing sculptures on the TV and ironing board, to our own cyclical rhythms of generating and containing messiness, working and living - Anna, Rita and Aliyah now bring themselves and their works into the 38b living room to create a intuitive installation and a night of improvised live music and performance.
