About

Greusslich Contemporary is pleased to cordially invite you to the exhibition, "PIERRE-ETIENNE MORELLE & PETER ROLLNY – Beloved Enemy". Two extremely varied positions in contemporary art, which for different reasons engage with the foundational forms of the stroke, cross, and ring, will charge the exhibition space with their respective powers of allure and centrifugal force.

Pierre-Etienne Morelle (*1980, France) exhibits a picture frame contrived from rubber strips taken from automobile tires which partially fulfill a function in holding together, through their tension, the otherwise unglued frame. Other frames show variously furled rubber strips of varied density.

Peter Rollny (*1968, Germany) exhibits small format paintings, which are based in abstraction and which produce a narratively toned image, in which pastosely applied forms carefully lift off from the background, engendering imaginative narrative fantasies.
