Pierre & Baby present achilles, a live performance that fuses dance and digital projection, exploring the contemporary struggles and liberations in the human pursuit of love. The duo will transform ‘The Garage’ at Ugly Duck’s Bermondsey venue into an underground cruising spot for their new full-length version of achilles.
achilles premiered at The Place for Resolution Festival in 2018 and was brought back for The Place’s first ever Resolution Replay and has gone on to be programmed by venues that include the V&A, the Wellcome Collection and queer performances spaces like the Royal Vauxhall Tavern and The Chateau.
“Ugly Duck is proud to announce that we received more than 50 projects and proposals from artists, curators and activists following our recent open call for the upcoming season In Transition. With the help of our guest curators Anna Dumitrui (Artist), Tamsin Ace (Head of Public Programming at Southbank Centre) and Layla Reynolds (Illustrator and Art Director at Gal-Dem). We have selected 30+ projects to be presented at our venues from February to July 2019. The projects range from compete building takeovers to individual pieces chosen to participate in a showcase event by Ugly Duck.”
