Introduction to Photopolymer Etching with Helen Ashton
About
This is a specialist course offering hands on experience etching photosensitive polymer. The plates exhibit a continuous tone, fine detail and rich blacks.The course focuses on a combination of digital imaging software, UV exposing and traditional etching. You will be guided through Adobe Photoshop, to output and expose A5 digital positives. The studio is a low toxic environment and the course will teach students to handle solvents and oil based inks safely.
This course is suitable for both beginners and those with previous printmaking experience. By the end of the course you will be able to come and work independently in the studio during Open Access hours.
