Photography Now will showcase 10 local and international artists from the U.K, Australia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Russia and Spain.  This diverse exhibition will display contemporary photographers showing new techniques and approaches in the ever developing format. Their work promotes and documents a wide range of subjects with many new and unseen artworks on display in the UK for the first time. We are pleased to bring together artists from all over the world providing an alternative, contrasting and new approach to the photography medium.

We are delighted to present the surreal and intriguing works by Andrea Torresan artist focused on exploring femininity through its diverse and complex symbolism. Her meticulously created artworks are charged with vitality and they offer a visual study of the relationship between women and nature. Presenting a complete different approach to feminine beauty. We exhibit Natalia Nnatkin’s take on the concepts and ideals in fashion. Her bright photographs, bursting with Warhol-like colours, reminisce the commercialisation of beauty and art, which further extend into publicity and editorial contents. We are also invited to explore light, an essential element of artworks, particularly in photography. JB Knibbs, coming from a background in lighting design, confronts us with explosions of light and colours, creating alluring yet disturbing scenarios. She takes advantage of our relationship with certain objects and settings, exploiting this familiarity and shocking us with her dramatic photographs.

The Brick Lane Gallery presents Photography Now aiming to promote new and upcoming artists in the field of photography. Furthermore, due to the artists diverse background, it allows visitors to experience the different influences, themes and techniques applied in contemporary photography. We are thrilled to invite you to the exhibition private view night at The Brick Lane Gallery – The Annexe open from 6pm-8.30pm on Wednesday 4th February 2015.The exhibition will be open for viewing from 5th February to 15th February 2015.
