Putney Library in south London is hosting a unique event for most of the month of April: it’s called: “PhotoDoc LifeTime Exhibition”, the brainchild of London-based photographer and writer, Nicholas Mackey as he celebrates a creative journey in photos+writing.

About

The Exhibition is in four parts:

1. ‘Dublin, My Dublin’, illustrates where Nicholas was born and brought up in Ireland - giving a glimpse of his native city.

2. ‘Per Agamemnon, Ad Astra’, this shows the tomb complex of King Agamemnon, near Mycenae, in Greece.

The originals of two pictures from the above have been shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

3. 'Imagery and Poetry', contemporary pictures from London and Wandsworth, plus poems from Nicholas' photobooks over the past four years.

4. ‘there’s light at the end of the tunnel’, a collection of photos, poetry and observations put together during Covid Times. It was this body of work which secured Nicholas a shortlisting in the Royal Photographic Society Documentary Photographer of the Year 2021 Award.

Nicholas says of his exhibition, “What I'm trying to do with PhotoDoc LifeTime is to give visitors, a holistic experience through pictures, poetry and listening. I am delighted to be showing at Putney Library and very grateful for this opportunity.” There is an additional audio feature available whereby people can access audio files connected to the exhibition by merely scanning a QR code.
