An exhibition centred around what it means to be an island, looking at practices expanding the possibilities of photography
About
No Place is an Island is an exhibition at London Art Fair 2022 curated by independent curator and art historian Rodrigo Orrantia that will present a selection of works by British and UK-based artists, working with different perspectives around the idea of an island. The exhibition aims to interrogate what it means to be an island and to imagine its multiple possibilities towards the future. The selection focuses on practices that experiment with the boundaries of photography, sculpture and performance, often referencing British photographic history as a context for their approach to the medium.
The exhibition will include works by 14 contemporary photographers including Esther Teichmann, Dafna Talmor, Martin Seeds, Tom Hunter and Sarah Pickering, each of whom bring a unique perspective to the exhibition’s subject matter and work in a variety of photographic formats and materials.
