About

Hire Space Wolverhampton Art Gallery Organised by the Education and Outreach Team, it will display artworks created during half-term workshops by young people from the local Muslim and Sikh communities photographed as part of Interface. Led by photographer Michelle Sank, the workshops allowed young people to interpret their understanding of their culture, religion and personalities in the City of Wolverhampton, and, more generally, how traditional and Western values become linked. Sank also asked the young people questions including what would they like to be when they grow up and if they felt they fitted into society as a whole. Through the photographic medium, Sank enabled the groups to develop their skills, practically through learning about photography, but also helping to build confidence through discussion and expression of their visual identity.
