Faithful to its background, its desire to protect heritage and its interest in the art of its time, in 2017 the Hôtel Métropole will be opening up to contemporary art by inviting artists to exhibit their work at the heart of its public areas.
Encouraged by Sandrine Saint Hilaire and at the proposal of Gregory Verdonck (Schiller Art Gallery), the Hôtel Métropole will making regular appointments with the world of contemporary creation. This act of corporate sponsorship will provide tangible support for artists on a non-profit basis to help them become known among guests and visitors.
For this first event, Hôtel Métropole has invited artist Philippe Leblanc to embellish the public areas of the building. This artist’s works will enter into dialogue with the historical atmosphere of the hotel, offering guests and visitors a new perspective on the surroundings and anchoring art in the daily life of this exceptional setting.
The hotel is to organise group guided tours of the exhibition in the company of the artist upon request.
