About

Philip Kojo Metz's ongoing project, begun in 2014, offers a postcolonial critique of cultures surrounding football in Africa and in Europe. MIMICRY GAMES has been previously presented, in part, at institutions including Christoph Schlingensief's Operndorf Afrika in Ziniaré, Burkina Faso and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, Germany. Kojo Metz's upcoming show at Decad will serve as the first retrospective of the work's first chapter in its entirety, produced between 2014 and 2016. Within the corresponding public programme at Decad, Kojo Metz will produce new works towards a second chapter.
