Expect something different for this exhibition of new work by one of our most popular artists. The shapes people make fascinate him and this is evident in his work. Whether this is a crowd of commuters bustling across a station concourse or a solitary figure engrossed in their own thoughts. These paintings capture the essence of the moment, the spirit of human presence and the space they occupy. Phil Tyler manages to achieve a balance between the opposing forces of gesture and description. For this exhibition he concentrates on swimmers: floating, diving and tumbling in the water.
