About

Unnatural- Natural History artist Dean Melbourne will be leading an interactive session using the Pecha Kucha format to discuss his relationship to images and recent developments in his work. The format devised in Japan draws its name from the Japanese term for the sound of ‘chit chat' and follows a concise format by presenting 20 images for 20 seconds each followed by discussion. Dean graduated with a BA(Hons)Painting from University of Wolverhampton and has exhibited widely since, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. His work has been described as falling into a literary painting tradition, responding to our inherent need for stories. His preoccupation with images and ‘ways of seeing' makes PechaKuchamore than just a vehicle for discussing his work, but also as a format a subject for discussion in its own right in relationship to his work.
