Luton, United Kingdom

Yva Jung’s project entitled "Monday Morning" commences with a performance at a market where she locates herself alongside other vendors. She will present sculptures made with dew. The audience are invited to barter their stories for the sculptures. Jung will then create new works telling these stories and these will become part of her upcoming exhibition with Departure Lounge (30 May to 13 July 2019). Records of the performance will be collected and put into illustrated booklets, which will be given away to visitors at the show’s closing event on Saturday 13 July, 1-3pm. The performance will build relationships with the public in a non-art location and invite them into the gallery, where Jung will showcase her new work that will reflect her interactions with the public.
This project is generously funded by Arts Council England and RevolutonArts. It is organised by Departure Lounge and supported by Luton Culture.
